Tile to Colorbond

Tile to metal roof conversions

Ready to modernise your home and boost its value? We convert old tiled roofs into sleek, long-lasting Colorbond metal roofs. Say goodbye to maintenance headaches and hello to improved durability and street appeal.

Why people in the Shire are moving off tiles

A lot of homes around the Shire still carry their original concrete or terracotta tiles. After a few decades they need regular attention: cracked and slipped tiles, perished pointing on the ridges, and leaks that show up after the first big storm of the season.

A metal roof takes that job off your list. It is one continuous sheet from ridge to gutter, it is far lighter on the frame than tile, and it gives the house a crisp, modern line from the street.

  • Less upkeep: no tiles to crack, slip or re-point
  • A lighter roof sitting on your frame
  • A clean, modern look that lifts street appeal
  • A choice of Colorbond colours to suit the house and the street

How a conversion usually runs

  1. Look and quote

Dave comes out, gets up on the roof, measures up and talks you through what your roof needs. The quote is free.

  2. Make it safe

Edge protection goes up where the job needs it, so the work is done safely and your place is protected.

  3. Tiles off

The old tiles come off and are taken away. The battens are checked and set up to suit metal sheeting.

  4. Metal on

New sheets go on with the flashings, valleys and ridge capping to match, so every joint sheds water the right way.

  5. Gutters and finish

Gutters, fascia and downpipes are replaced at the same time if they need it, and the site is cleaned up before we leave.

Thinking about a tile restoration instead?

Cleaning and painting old tiles can buy a roof some time, but the tiles, the pointing and the leaks underneath are still there. If your tiles are past their best, a conversion deals with the cause rather than the surface. We will tell you straight which way makes sense for your roof.

Questions

Tile to metal roof conversions: common questions

Can any tiled roof be converted to metal?

Most can. We get up on the roof first and check the frame, the pitch and the battens, then tell you what the conversion involves for your house before you commit to anything.

Can I choose the colour?

Yes. Colorbond steel comes in a range of standard colours. We will talk through what suits your home, your street and your neighbours.

Do you replace the gutters at the same time?

If they need it, yes. Doing gutters, fascia and downpipes with the roof means everything matches and the whole system drains the way it should.
